Bakersfield, Napa, Santa Maria, Vacaville, Coachella, among California DUI enforcement communities this Holiday weekend
San Diego DUI criminal defense attorneys at www.SanDiegoDUI.com and San Diego DUI criminal defense lawyers at www.SanDiegoDUIhelp.com hear of escalated DUI enforcement throughout California.
Bakersfield Police Department Traffic Enforcement Detail will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint in the Greater Bakersfield area.
The BPD issued a release about the upcoming enforcement.
This DUI/Drivers License checkpoint is in an effort to reduce the number of persons injured or killed each year in DUI related collisions, as well as insuring motorists on city streets are in possession of a valid driver’ s license.
A major component of these checkpoints is to increase awareness of the dangers of impaired driving and to encourage sober designated drivers.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant for the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
If you are found at a checkpoint, or anywhere, to be under the influence or without a driver's license, you can face a citation, having your driver's license suspended, car impounded or even jail time.
The public is encouraged to help keep roadways safe by calling 911 if they see a suspected impaired driver.
The Napa police are doing their part this Saturday to get drunken drivers off the road this holiday weekend.
They will be conducting DUI saturation patrols within the city limits.
The patrols will be in areas where there has been a high number of traffic crashes and arrests involving drunken drivers.
Napa police are attempting to cut down on collisions involving DUI drivers. Police suggest those who have been drinking and believe they need to get behind the wheel of a car to call a cab, a friend, take the bus or even walk.
DUI saturation patrols are paid for from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Sobriety/Safety Check Points have been having an incredible impact on our local streets. California is number one in the U.S. for having DUI [driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs] instances. So I welcome the enforcement of our California laws.
Since October 1, Santa Maria traffic officers have made 39 DUI arrests, issued 483 citations to unlicensed drivers, and temporarily impounded 489 vehicles.
Those who drive without a license or insurance deserve to lose their cars. The streets are a lot safer when these unauthorized people are not driving.
this day and age, it's hard to believe that anyone getting into a vehicle has to be reminded to fasten his or her seat belt.
And yet Vacaville police officers -- along with law enforcers nationwide -- are handing out plenty of tickets to drivers and passengers who fail to buckle up.
Vacaville is halfway through its Click It or Ticket crackdown, which will run through the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Local police will also be conducting a DUI checkpoint this weekend, and the California Highway Patrol will be out in force beginning tonight, all to help ensure travelers reach their destinations safely.
The, Coachella Police Department will be operating a Click it or Ticket seat belt safety checkpoint on 11/26/08 between the hours of noon and 4:00 P.M, in an effort to help bring everyone home safe for the holiday, will also be looking for DUI ddrivers.
